About Zest & Punch
We’re Zest & Punch, a fast-growing commission-based agency run by two guys in our late 20s (ouch). We specialise in working with high-end companies to grow their business through developing websites and advertising that generate quality leads.
We are not a huge volume-based agency churning out work for dozens of clients at a time. We work with a carefully selected number of clients so we can focus on doing an amazing job for each of them. In 4 years we’ve never lost a client.
Why are we Hiring?
After bootstrapping our advertising agency from 0 to 6 figures as a duo, we’ve got to the point where we now need help to continue growing at the same rate.
Our reputation is growing faster than we can onboard new clients, and we’re spending more time developing websites, than focusing on what we do best - advertising. So, instead of going full steam ahead, we’re putting potential clients on waitlists. It’s a bottleneck—and that’s where you come in.
We want you to join us and take ownership of the web aspect of our business, making it your own. We’re looking for someone who has the skills to develop high-converting websites from the designs we create and also takes real pride in their work. We’ll make sure you have the tools, support, and freedom to do it.
Overview
We’re looking for a talented front-end web developer to build high-end websites that deliver effective user experiences and drive conversions. This is a full-time remote role with regular in-person catchups, so you’ll need to be somewhere in the Yorkshire area so we can meet up IRL – building relationships is important to us, and we’ll buy the coffee, pint or cocktail if that’s what you’re into.
Your Technical Skills:
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JS and PHP
- Able to write clean, maintainable code
- Strong experience working with WordPress
- Experience using data tracking platforms such as Tag Manager, GA4, Meta Pixel.
- Can set up server-side analytics and conversion tracking.
- Familiarity with cPanel and WHM.
- Can develop E-commerce websites within WooCommerce and create custom product templates based on provided designs.
- Integrating API’s and triggering webhooks.
- Good understanding of technical SEO.
- Can follow web best practices regarding performance and accessibility.
- Experience using a WordPress theme builder to be able to maintain current sites in our portfolio.
- Good grasp of UX and UI principles.
Nice to have but not Necessary
- A keen eye for design and modern user interfaces
Your Personal Skills
- Take pride in your work: You care deeply about the work you produce. Your work is a reflection of your standards, and you’re not satisfied until everything is perfect.
- You’re creative: You’re not just here to take instructions — you thrive on sharing new ideas and exploring innovative solutions that elevate our projects.
- You can have a laugh: A good sense of humour goes a long way with us.
- Strong problem-solving abilities: Challenges don’t intimidate you. You approach problems logically, creatively, and persistently until you find the best solution.
- Excellent attention to detail: You a ‘that’ll do” attitude. You want the smallest details to be right.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively: you can juggle tasks, set priorities, and deliver on multiple projects without compromising quality.
- Recognise the importance of continuous learning: You’re always looking to improve your skills and share insights with the team.
- A high level of personal integrity: you’re open, dependable and make decisions thoughtfully.
